and Families

Relationships are Foundational to our Well-Being

We are social beings, wired for connection. Relationships are safe spaces that are developed through the courageous and vulnerable act of allowing oneself to be seen and known. Relationships are where we heal, grow, laugh, and play. Recent developments in neuroscience have revealed that past experiences become imprinted in our neural pathways, our nervous systems, and our bodies affecting the ways we experience ourselves and our world. Unlike traditional talk therapy, my therapeutic models are aligned with what we now know — to affect deep, lasting change we need to gradually and progressively become aware of our thinking (cognition), feelings (affect), bodies (somatic sensations) and reorganize the ways these systems relate within us and between us. Connect 2 Thrive helps individuals and families heal past wounds, rebuild nervous system safety, regain connection to your authentic self, and build healthy, strong relational bonds.

“No matter how traumatic our histories, we are not just bundles of pathology. Lodged deeply within us are dispositions of healing and self-righting, there for the awakening.”

Experience

I have extensive training in the areas of social-emotional development, attachment, trauma, neuroscience, parenting, and healthy relationships. I am committed to a continuous learning and growth process. This includes ongoing training and reading in my areas of specialty. I am also dedicated to my own healing and growth as an individual and spiritual human. I must be able to meet you where you are if I am to accompany you on your journey.

Respect and Heart

I have deep respect for the courage it takes to attend therapy. I believe that therapy should be collaborative; clients are encouraged to be highly involved in their therapeutic process and in the setting of intentions for our work together. I also believe in authenticity and working from the heart. Amazing things can happen when both therapist and client tune into their hearts - healing, growth, and transformation are inevitable.

Flexible Structure

Therapy sessions are organized into 12 week blocks, with time off between blocks to allow for more focused goal-setting, ongoing assessment of progress and need, and frequent opportunities for either re-commitment or taking breaks, as needed. This allows clients to capitalize on the freshness of beginning anew, celebrating gains and integrating them into one’s own life, and being intentional in the therapy process.
